Platelets of ancient Roman diadem, 2nd century AD, made of gold in the shape of laurel leafs, rosettes and cicadas.
Round ones in the middle of the second row from the above are bearing the image of an Emperor, most likely Geta, the son of Seprimius Severus.
Diadem was found in grave GK-17 at Roman necropolis in Mala Kopašnica village, near Leskovac, south-eastern Serbia.
During rescue archaeological excavations on the route of the highway Е75 along Corridor 10, at the sites of Kamenitica and Carski Drum in Mala Kopašnica, a large part of a Roman cemetery was unearthed (2nd-4th century AD).
The remains of the cemetery were discovered all over the area endangered by construction activities related to the new highway, in the length of about 300 m and an average width of 25 m. During the excavations, a total of 488 graves were discovered, 441 of them with cremated and 47 with buried remains.
